All-Purpose
Carve an X into the side of each shell to prevent them from bursting in the oven or fire like popcorn, place on a backing sheet in a single layer. Back for about 1-15 minutes at 400 temperature or higher, depending on your oven or fire, shaking the pan occasionally. Or blanch and peel, then cook the chestnuts in the boiling water for 35 to 40 minutes. Peel while still warm.
